Harrison's New Impulse Garners Favor at St. Andrews

July 20, 2005

PACOIMA, Calif. -- As golf equipment insiders swung their attention to Europe and the games' ancestral home this past weekend, many European players were discovering what's new in golf equipment, particularly the latest innovation by Harrison Sports -- the all-new Impulse Hybrid fairway wood and utility shafts.

Harrison PGA TOUR representative Arnie Cunningham serviced pros playing at the Scottish Open and The Open Championship at St. Andrews, and he gave many of the European Tour players their first chance to see and test hit the Impulse Hybrid shaft. And, just as their PGA Tour counterparts have discovered, the Impulse hybrid shaft is extremelystable and consistent.

"The consistency and feel of the new Impulse has generated a lot of talk on the PGA Tour, and we're very excited to personally introduce the new hybrid shaft to pros on the European Tour, especially in a venue as historic as St. Andrews," says Cunningham. "On the PGA Tour, the Impulse has been gaining attention every week, and we're getting more and more requests from pros wanting to test hit the new shaft. Of course, word on a good product travels fast in this industry, so there were quite a few pros over here who were anxious to try the new Impulse."

The Impulse is a particularly unique hybrid design that incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix, a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft's tip section to increase stability, reduce

shaft torque and to dramatically improve accuracy. Typically, hybrid-design clubs must withstand greater stress at impact due to turf contact, so enhanced stability is a critical design factor for the shaft to resist distortion upon impact. However, the Impulse's special hybrid design and advanced titanium layer delivers reliable shot after reliable shot. In addition, Impulse shafts possess a lower balance point and produce a higher launch angle to make it easier to get the ball up into the air.

Impulse graphite shafts are available as a Fairway Wood or Utility Iron. The 75-gram Fairway Wood shaft has a 44-inch length and 3.5 degrees of torque. The 42-inch-long Utility Iron shaft weighs 85 grams and has a torque of 2.5 degrees.

Designed and manufactured from the finest in graphite, titanium and boron materials, Harrison shafts are among the top five of the most-used graphite shafts in the world. Technologically superior and are eye-catching in appearance, Harrison has become a popular and growing choice among professionals, clubmakers and golf enthusiasts. Harrison shafts are available from more than 6000 dealers across the United States. For a dealer near you, please call 800.347.4646 or e-mail info@harrison.com.
