Harrison Harvests Top Money on PGA Tour

October 2 , 2006

PACOIMA, Calif. -- Winning second- and third-place on the PGA Tour, Harrison reaped a bountiful harvest at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic at the Annandale Golf Club. Harrison graphite shafts delivered reliable consistency and accuracy for three of the Top Five players and four of the Top 10 overall.

While this week's runner-up used a Harrison Pro 2.5 shaft in his driver, the third-place contender -- and two-time U.S. Open champion -- played a Harrison Impulse shaft in his hybrid club. The fifth-place and eighth-place Harrison players used Pro 1.4 and a Pro 2.5 shafts, respectively.

"With four of the Top 10 players at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic, this is one of Harrison's biggest weeks of the year and another strong showing for the Pro 2.5 model," says Mike Cheng, president of Harrison Sports. "The Pro 2.5 shaft is well-known for giving players increased distance and greater accuracy, and it features one of the lowest overall torques in Harrison's line of high-performance shafts."

The Pro 2.5 has been used to score more than 200 Top 10s on the PGA Tour, seven World Long Drive championships wins. A logical contrast to the popular stiff tip design, the Pro 2.5's high performance construction fused with a mid tip stiffness to make it easier to get the ball air borne

is an ideal shaft for golfers who seek a high degree of accuracy and playability. It is ideally suited for the 460cc driver that is so popular today.

New for 2006, Harrison's Impulse Hybrid shaft incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix, a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft's tip section to increase stability, reduce shaft torque and to dramatically improve accuracy. Hybrid-design clubs must often withstand more stress at impact due to turf contact, so enhanced stability is a critical design factor for shafts to resist impact distortion. The Harrison Impulse shaft also possesses a lower balance point and produces a higher launch angle to more easily get the ball airborne. Impulse shafts are available as a fairway wood or utility iron.
