This is a comment, praise really, for your SL50 5.5 shaft. I am 61 and have a swing speed in the high 70s-83 mph. Although a decent golfer -- I shoot in the mid-80s when I play frequently and in the mid-90s when I don't -- one of my main problems is distance. Or I should say has been -- in he past-- distance.

I build my own clubs for the most part. In the past 4 years I have built about 2 dozen woods (and two sets of irons, 4 or 5 putters and 8 or 9 wedges), many different heads (Golfsmith, Maltby, Dynacraft, Hireko, John Letters, etc.) and easily a dozen different wood shafts -- Grafalloys, Aldilas, Fenwicks, Retros, several "in house" brands, and several Harrisons (the SL50, two from the FL series, a Boron) etc. After quite a bit of experimentation it is quite clear that the SL50 5.5 is BY FAR the best shaft for what I was looking for -- better, straighter distance. I use them on my driver (Golfsmith AERMET), fairway driver (Mars Cydonia LCG 13 degree) and 3-wood (Maltby Trouble Out). In all cases I used other shafts before I found the SL50s, so I know what the shaft is responsible for. Your shaft has made an important difference in my game and my playing partners have commented on it -- 200-220 yds from the driver, 185-200 from the Cydonia, and 180-195 from the 3-wood. And these are REAL yards, not hoped for yards. For a guy my age and swing speed I am VERY satisfied with the distance, feel and the control.

My 4 wood is a Cleveland Quadpro with the shaft that came with it and my 7 wood has the Fenwick World Class Eagle (someone told me that shaft is the same one as in the Quadpro) which I found earlier -- and like a lot, but which is now out of production.

The price on the SL50 5.5 is also reasonable. It is the perfect woods/driver shaft for a guy my age and swing speed. In fact my only complaint about it is its relative rareness -- the only place I know to buy it is GSA in Alabama.

So thanks for the product, and please, please, please don't take it out of production.

Regards,
Doug Cowley Sherborn, MA
